Les Miserables, muay thai, and fashion maven.

1. After much anticipation, I watched my favorite musical with my Ian on the big screen. Victor Hugo’s story is such a vivid illustration of the difference between law and grace. Hugh Jackman gave justice to the role of a pardoned convict faced with a series of moral dilemmas, and Anne Hathaway’s performance reduced me to a sniffling mess. It was a thrill to hear Colm Wilkinson, the original Valjean, singing the part of the Bishop. I count it a huge success that I was able to restrain myself from singing out loud; it was a joy to listen to the entire cast giving life to songs I’ve memorized since elementary. Especially this line:
“To love another person is to see the face of God.”

2. It was our first muay thai session courtesy of one of my Ian’s college friends. It felt fulfilling to vent my stress with my fists and had a lot of laughs due to my flailing around in confusion about which is left or right. Let’s do it again!
Lessons learned:
- There are actually muscles in that flabby mass I call an abdomen. I can feel each one with a twinge.
- It’s perfectly fine to eat 6 times a day, hurrah!
- I need to listen to directions more attentively.

3. Ate Charms faced the 3 shoes in 3 hours challenge magnificently: she helped me find flattering footwear that were also comfortable to walk around in for very reasonable prices. And the fashion intervention was mixed with career and faith updates. Till the next shopping spree!

4. It was my first time to sing in a choir gown during regular services. Aptly, we sang “Narito Ako” which translates to: Here I am (Lord).
Send me.

Kudos for muaythai! I miss it tuloy – used to go to a training center in Pasong Tamo but it closed shop na sometime last year… I’m planning to try Elorde’s this year, hopefully more regularly haha XD

What I love about muaythai (or any martial arts) is that you get to trim down the fats AND learn something useful :D (plus develop your muscles into somethingactually practical & useful).

Keep it up, Kru Rita! Sawadikap! XD

(btw: you cheated, you have #4 haha dba dapat 3 lang???) :p

Wow, Muay Thai! I’ve always wanted to learn that. BTW, I was waiting for your comment on Les Mis because I know how much you love the musical. :3

Hihi, all these were done over the weekend. The movie and shopping dates are very rare occurences (I’m not fond of spending that much money in one go) but the muay thai and choir are now weekly commitments. Ikaw ang alalay, chaffeur si Val? hehe. Miss na kita! Hope you can drop by my place again soon. =)

Kami ng ate mo mga die-hard fans. I’m so buying a DVD, so that I can sing along with it in the comfort of my own home. Comfort, not privacy, hehe.

6 times a day…may serving suggestion yun ha. hindi lamon 6 times a day. If i’m not mistaken, it’s 100g max 200g per meal, 6 times a day. :)

Carmi: yep, may serving size limit and suggested foods. fruits, mostly. apples and bananas ang preference ko kasi di na kelangan ng knife, hehe. para akong fish: small frequent feeding.
