1. I spent the long Christmas weekend in Tarlac with my family. It was hibernation, feast, videoke, carollers, adorable but aloof nephew, cute and very chatty niece, grinning and gentle grandmother, peripatetic parents, a wrapped gift with a tiny bunny card, etc. And the realization that this is one of the last of my uncomplicated holidays.
2. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The Honourable Schoolboy. Smiley’s People. Jane Eyre unabridged version. The Shallows by Nicholas Carr. How to De-Stress Your Life. Oh, reading for pleasure, I am making up for lost time.
