For the long October 26-28 weekend.
1. For the first time in months, I get to spend an entire day with my Ian: food trip, walking everywhere, much-needed massage, window shopping, and talking for hours. Happy second anniversary dearest.
2. I am one ecstatic bookworm. Thank you for a fantasy come true!
3. After I sing a random song, the conductor asks me to follow chords up and down the scale. Big surprise, I’m an alto again. It’s great to be back in a choir, even if I’m just sitting in for the next couple of months.

1. For Jasper’s birthday, Darl asked us to help with an impromptu program for his bbq party. We enjoyed a delicious alfresco dinner, cream puffs, a riotous game of “Bring Me” and midnight tea. The good-natured teasing and laughter prompted the birthday boy to say, “with friends like these, who needs enemies?”
2. My Ian definitely looked good in a suit. And yes, I had to admit a bow tie was not so bad after all. Lo siento.
3. As usual, our family celebrated with a food fest at Kimono Ken. Little niece gave me a tight hug, little nephew delivered a stunning blow to my glasses with a light-stick, and not-so-little brother ate all the leftovers. Advanced happy birthday to Bryan and 30th anniversary to my parents!
4. Reminder to self:

1. For the first time in weeks, I fall asleep immediately and wake up refreshed. Hopefully, this means I can reset my body clock from its usual 5am-1pm sleep pattern to a more sane schedule.
2. There is a new batch of brewed coffee in the pantry and the vacuum-sealed pack is as hard as a brick. When I open it, the aroma of freshly ground beans fill the air. It tastes even better.
3. I brown bag today: sinigang with lots of gabi and a salad of lettuce and tacos with salsa.

For October 7, 2012:
1. The branches of the great acacia trees arch over the UP Academic Oval, turning the the sky into a black and white lace pattern.
2. It suddenly drizzles, prompting us to run to the CMC tambayans for shelter. Waking up before noon means I’m sleep deprived, and my Ian gallantly lends me a shoulder to nap on.
3. It’s the start of the Christmas season, and Celtic Woman is my work music the past couple of weeks. Enjoy!
4. 23 months, and it just keeps getting better.
